#All The Way To Ancestral Goa Museum

Do you know that Goa is blessed with a great number of points of tourist interest?
If not, you must make sure about this fact.

It is situated on the coast of the Arabian Sea in the western part of India,
Goa which is the smallet state of India,is a breathtaking beach destintion of India.

This tourist destination is also home to an outdoor Cultural Museum, namely Ancestral Goa Museum/ Big Foot Cross Museum.

Ancestral Goa, which is a very charming theme park in Goa, is counted among the most beautiful theme parks all over India.

Ancestral Goa Museum is going to thrill you to bits especially if you are one of those interested in knowing about the facts files of the destination being visited by you.

Its not what Disney World makes you feel like, but it feels somewhat similar, especially if you are a historian,a curator or an artifact collector.

Ancestral Goa Museum is also known as Big Foot, located at Loutolim some 10km from Margao.

Its started off as a dream of a resident artist of this tiny idyllic village gradually turned out to be a must-see destination in most Goan Travel itineraries.

The Museum is an inspiration to all age groups of visitors who come here to experience this wonderfull setup.

The whole place has audio guides that come up and speak when you are closer to the displays.

It can be a bit jarring but ensure that you do not miss out on any details of the
displays in the Big Foot Museum.

As you enter the neatly done complex of Ancestral Goa Museum,
You will first see the Bronze statue of a guard and a beautifully decorated door and wall.

Visiters have a choice of visiting its various ares according to their likes and interest.

But Ancestral Goa Museum's main attraction is the open air museum-The Big Foot!

It shows cases large life statues and structures depicting the culture and traditions of Goa like going back to 200 years from now.

The Ancetral Goa Museum also features different mininature houses showcasing the traditional occupations and social clases of fishermn, Goan artisans, farmers ,a music school ,liquors shops, village market and feni distillery.

There is also a spring called Boca da vaca, a fruit and spice garden, Big foot Art Gallery, handicraft centre, a bookstall and alot more.

The story of Ancestral Goa Museum goes like this.....People here belive it to bring luck to those who stand on it during their visit.....

It is a giant-sized foot print on a rock that gives this place its name.
The myth is that if you touch the foot and make a wish it will come true.

Where an illuminating story is told by a series of painting about the legend of big foot that makes it a holy place.

The lateritice sculpture of Saint Mirabai, the famous devotee of Lord Krishna which is sculptured by Alvares has been recorded as the longest lateritic sculpture in India by "Limca Book of Records".

Time and again the Big Foot Art Gallery has played host to artists of state and national fame.It also works as a center of exhibition of art produced at the artist camps.
The gallery exhibits work done by school children at the on-the-spot poster and drawing competition, held on its grounds, each year.

Lastly,I would love to end, by saying that the Ancestral Goa Museum will open the doors to your heart and mind in the most sincere and appealing manner.
